Microsoft Windows sales dip, shares fall

SEATTLE (Reuters) – Microsoft Corp smashed Wall Street’s earnings estimates once more, helped by strong sales of its Office software and Xbox game console, but its shares fell on concerns about soft PC sales reducing demand for its flagship Windows product.

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Microsoft Corp smashed Wall Street’s profit and sales expectations on Friday, sending its shares up 9 percent, as the PC market showed signs of stabilizing and sales of its Windows software and Xbox game consoles held up much better than expected.
